It's great to have a true Chicago-style deep dish pizza offering in the Metro East. The deep dish is here is very similar to Giordano's of the Chicago area, a sweet sauce and a dense crust. I would like the crust to be a bit crisper, but no big complaints here. Meat sauce is also excellent. If you're looking for a Lou Malnati's style, Pi Pizzeria in St. Louis offers a similar style. Stick to Jonny's, though.

I love sweet and they have a nice sweet sauce that really gets me excited when someone wants to go to Johnnys and invites this guy!!! I like the crust, I like the sauce, I like the fresh toppings, I like the atmosphere, I like the service, they are very friendly, down to earth, helpful, quick, all this would pretty much have to put Johnnys on top of my list for pizza in Fairview Heights area. the bread sticks with pizza sauce and nacho cheese sauce mix, oh how did i almost forget about you! I get them every time and I love them every bite! If your looking for good pizza hit up Johnnys, you wont be disappointed... if you are, bring me those leftovers!!!

I've been here a hand full of times, and it's always good. Decent Chicago - style pizza for Southern Illinois, but IMHO the sauce is too sweet for a regular crust pizza. We've had several different appetizers and salads and all were good, but the deep dish pizza keeps us going back, at least until we can get to Chicago again.

The first time we ate at Johnny's we weren't terribly impressed, especially considering there is a Pasta House next door. The pasta sauce was a bit sweet for our tastes and the pizza was to bready. However, we found ourselves returning time after time for their pasta specials given their prices. The bottom line is that for not being terribly impressed, we actually now prefer it over Pasta House! Now if they can only improve their way too generic salads....

I've had Johnny's pizza on several occastions and the food is consistent and good. Never had a bad meal and the service is very good. The sauce on the pizza is what makes it so good.

Excellent!!! I have been ordering pizza to go from jonnys for 3-4 years. I have a specialty pizza that I order with different toppings not a standard order and they have NEVER messed it up. I love that they listen and take the time to make sure it is right. The food is delicious, and the people are friendly and professional. I encourage trying them out you will not regret it!

Can't get past the way to sweet red sauce! They put it on almost everything too. Other than that the service and food were good. Recommend trying taco pizza and salad. Wish they offered a different sauce because the lasagna and pastas were good just far too sweet!

Love when our boss gets us this for lunch! So good and doesn't feel as rushed and thrown together like those chain pizza places.

Disclaimer: we went because i bought a restaurant.com gift cert. We also had two 2 yr olds with us that did not want to be there. The service was great, fast and family friendly. HOWEVER - the gift cert said no family special but we didn't realize and of course, that's what we ordered. When I pulled it out to pay, I apologized and said I would pay the difference. They responded to not worry, they would let us use it just this one time. HA! I had a funny feeling when I was leaving that something wasn't adding up. Now that I've looked at the menu online, they charged us full price for everything! Anyhow, the pizza was good and I love sweet sauces, however the salad, salad dressing, breadsticks, garlic bread and spaghetti were plain, unappetizing and more or less blah. Worst ranch dressing I have ever had. The $35 min on the gift cert seemed fa bit much for my family (2 adults, 2 2yrolds). We should have left with boxes of food, however as I said above we were charged for the sodas, and "full" plate of spaghetti that we ordered without a salad (usually comes with). Side note: we ate one forkfull of the spaghetti. When I got home I put it in a small glad container. You can't tell me that is the "full" size. Again, I digress. Only being there 30 mins, my kids were melting down. We left a 25% tip since our kids were young, and ended up paying $22 cash in addition to our $25 gift certificate. All in all, I paid $47 for a 3 topping pizza, a bag of lettuce, 4 breadsticks, 2 pcs of bread, 2 sodas (no refills) and generic spaghetti. Thumbs down.

Just found this place a couple weeks ago and I'm sold!! Great Chicago style pizza or hand tossed crust. The atmosphere is typical pizza small joint/rehabbed from a sandwich shop place. Wait service was attentive and very friendly. It was empty when we arrived but quickly filled up shortly after we got there. It is family-oriented, and they have a couple video game machines there for kids, which I personally find rather annoying and Chucky Cheese-esque. I really don't like dining at Romper Room. I've never had the Chicago style pizza and found this to be wonderful. The crust is great, not too salty. Sauce is nicely subtly sweet with generous toppings and cheese. The Joey's special is awesome and they do half and halfs if you want that. This is definitely my favorite pizza on the East side. They also have salads, beadsticks and pasta dishes which we have not tried yet. Not a great or even good beverage selection though. We love this pizza but prefer to grab take-out and go dine with a nice bottle of wine at Olivia's, so we get our pizza in an adult atmosphere.

They have good pizza (especially the Joey's Special) but if you like salads, they have some great one's. My favorite is their Italian Salad. Great place to eat in or take out. Very friendly staff.

Used a Restaurant.com gift certificate here. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and due to the minimum purchase requirement for the gift card, we all sampled a variety of pizzas. My and I loved our pizzas and my middle son destroyed his chicken philly sandwich in record time. My little guy enjoyed a pizza from the kid's menu with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The pizza crust is perfect, not too thick and not too thin. The sauce is thick, a tad sweet and perfectly coated on the pizza. Our service was excellent, food was delivered in a timely manner and it was hot. We will definitely be back.

We've gotten pizza here at least half a dozen times in the past few months and it's been consistently excellent. As other reviewers have noted the sauce is sweet (I think it's a St. Louis thing) but it works much better on Johnny's pizza than on other local versions I've tried. The toppings are generous and fresh (except for the basil on the Manny's Special, which for some reason was dried, but still tasted good) and I especially appreciate that the green peppers are obviously the real thing, as opposed to some of the washed-out yellowish things I've gotten at other places. However, we were disappointed by both the cheesesticks and the garlic cheese bread -- somewhat bland and the sweet sauce doesn't work as well for dipping. Normally we get delivery, which has always been prompt, but the one time we ate in the service was friendly and surprisingly fast considering there appeared to be only one person working.

We frequent Jonny's on a regular basis for lunch and dinner. They have a family special that is unmatched and lunch specials are great too. Yes they have a sweeter sauce, but some people like that. I love the sweetness. Quality is consistent and I never have to worry about wasting my hard earned money on a subpar meal. They have one of best pizzas around and plenty of options for those of us who love to try different sauces on the pie. The wings are awesome and their Alfredo rivals any high end joint I have ever eaten at. On eve you try Jonny's you will be a regular.

I've had pasta and pizza here and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. The pizza is yummy and the sauce is pleasantly different than most. It's delicious! If I'm ever in the mood for a pizza that doesn't taste like every other bland pie in town I call Jonnys!

The pizza here is delicious but the service is absolutely terrible. We sat down and were not waited on or offered drinks for about 15 minutes. I thought it was just a busy night so we tried again and decided we would do carry out. We were on hold for over 10 minutes. This place seems short staffed and needs to hire another waitress if they want to have repeat customers. Again, the pizza was great but because of the service, I will take my business elsewhere.

4.5 Stars! Best Chicago style pizza in area!!! Wish the dining area was a bit larger. It gets packed on the weekends. But if u want delish pizza, this is the place...love it!

Bought a groupon here. This is a nice pizza place, and the pizza is deep dish and has a nice crispy crust. Also ordered the wings, and they were also good, nice flavor, plenty of sauce to them. And it's right across the street from a big shopping center. A good place for a beer, pizza and wings.

My hubby talked me into a Groupon for this place based on reviews. We're serious about good food and love finding great pizza. First off, we drove from just south of St. Louis to go. They're in a strip mall, kinda off the beaten path. But when we got there it was packed! We had to wait about 5-7 minutes for a table. We figured it was a good sign. We ordered fried pickles, a Chicago style deep dish with lots of meats, and a thin crust with pepperoni. The pickles were good, especially since I was wanting some. The pizzas came out and looked good. I found that there wasn't an abundance of toppings on the deep dish. The cruat was very doughy. I prefer it to be a little more crispy and buttery. The sauce is very sweet. A little too sweet for me. I only ate one slice of that one one square of the thin crust. Again, the sauce... Too sweet. The hubby and kids enjoyed it, but me? Not so much. I much prefer eating Chicago style deep dish at Pi in STL.

Stopped by after work and picked up a medium Joey's Special to go. Well I must say the sauce took me by surprise it had a sweet taste, reallly, pizza sauce that is sweet! Now this is a no-no in my books, you don't make the pizza into desert (that's what the cannoli is for). This could have been better, sorry.

Pretty good Chicago style pizza with veggies & chicken. It was well season sauce but the chicken was cut into really small pieces & it wasn't very seasoned. Tried the mozzarella bread sticks I could really enjoy the dough which was delish (I'm a bread lover)! The cesar salad was fairly decent as well. If I'm in the area I would stop in again!

We've been going to Jonny's for well over a year now so I feel like I can write a good review that is not based on a one-time visit. The food is awesome...if you like pizza, we really love and recommend the Joey's special. I was surprised by one review I read about the salad. I don't typically review salads, especially at pizza joints, but Jonny's stands out. Always fresh and full of veggies, and honestly some outstanding dressings. We've also had their sandwiches which are top notch and on Sunday nights they have a very reasonably priced "all you can eat" spaghetti dinner with salad and breadsticks. Sooo good. Their spaghetti is my personal favorite. Check them out...they're a good local, non-chain place to eat. We frequent the place and bring out-of-town guests there all the time.

While not the Chicago style pizza that wakes me up in the middle of the night, this place is my goto for a good pizza. They are one of the VERY FEW pizza joints that has Green olives as a topping.. and I LOVE my Green Olive and pepperoni pizza! They also Have Boscoe sticks which my GF LOVES! and they will deliver to my apt in Belleville! Give them a go!

Not bad pizza, sweeter than east coast. Had good service until one tome delivery was 2 hrs and person taking order was rude about not getting order out after we called several times. Finally after she gave the manager the phone the probelm was fixed and meal was free but will not return because of service.

Hands down - the best and most authenctic Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza on the east side. Hand-made crusts. Lots of cheese. Quality meats. The sauce is nice but be warned it is sweet and not to everyone's liking (but I like it!). The family special for around $20 is a great deal. We get it for 2 just because it is cheaper than ordering drinks, salads, and pizza seperately. They will substitute a smaller Chicago style for the regular pizza if you ask. Very friendly staff. Many pizzaerias advertise a Chicago style but this place gets it right (I'm a former Chicago resident). If you are in the area, this place is worth the drive.

I have found this place to be pretty okay in my visits. I simply find it to be a little to salty for me, but the rest of my family really enjoys it.
